Cambrian Active is designed to promote the Cambrian Mountains as a tourism destination. It aims primarily to advise potential visitors about what they can see and do in the area, and offers ideas about places to stay and eat.

We want to assist visitors to get the best out of their visit to the mountains, whether they come to walk, cycle, fish, bird watch, or simply to take in the scenery and visit the many museums and monuments in the area.

The website endeavours to pull together all available information on tourism businesses working in the Cambrian Mountains. It does this by offering those businesses a web page or a listing to promote themselves on line.

By getting businesses to work together to promote the Cambrian Mountains offer, we aim to raise the profile of the area so that it can compete with better known destinations in Wales.

At the moment the Cambrian Mountains are largely undiscoverd. This is part of the area’s charm. You can walk all day in the mountains here and not see another soul. You can escape completely from the noise and intrusion of modern life, and find that sense of perspective and inner peace, so easily lost in the busy lives that we lead today.

We don’t want to spoil that charm, but at the same time we do want to increase the value of tourism to the economies of the many communities that ring the mountains. Our towns and villages are also part of the area’s charm. We want to help preserve their character and ensure that they remain viable and vibrant places to live and visit, far into the future.
